My research is focused on spectroscopy of luminescent nanoparticles. I explore correlations between structural properties and spectroscopic characteristics of nanoparticles doped with lanthanide and transition metal ions. The ultimate goal is to obtain the knowledge to rationally predict and design nanoparticles with precisely controlled optical properties for specific applications, with special emphasis on remote sensing.
